What is Beat The Deck?

A free browser card game

Nine cards face up, one shuffled deck behind them. Guess higher or lower, stack your streak, and watch the multiplier do the rest of the work.

Beat The Deck is a higher-or-lower prediction game played against a freshly shuffled 52-card deck. Nine cards are dealt face up; you call whether the next draw beats each one, and every correct call feeds two separate streak counters that multiply your score together. No download, no account, and no time limit — open the page and you're already playing.

Want the full rules or the scoring math? The How To Play guide walks through every mechanic, and the Scoring Guide breaks down exactly how points compound.

Two ways to play

🎲 Random Deck

A brand-new shuffle every time. Chase a personal best or push straight to the global leaderboard.

📅 Today's Deck

Everyone who plays today gets the exact same shuffle. Compare notes with friends on the same 52 cards.

🏆 Trophy Case

Milestones like your first streak of five or your first cleared deck are tracked locally and shown above.

🎨 Card Skins

Coins earned from play unlock cosmetic backings in the shop — no purchases involved.

How the streaks work, briefly

Every card position tracks its own streak, worth 10 + streak × 2 points per correct call. Separately, your global streak — every correct call across all nine cards — unlocks a multiplier that tops out at 2× once you reach fifteen in a row. A single wrong guess zeroes the global streak and the streak on whichever card you were playing, so the tension is always between pushing for a bigger multiplier and protecting the one you've already built. The Scoring Guide has the full table and worked examples.

Quick answers

Do I need an account to play?

No — play instantly as a guest. Creating a free account saves your coin balance, equipped skin, and lets you appear on the leaderboard under your own name instead of a guest tag.

What's the difference between Random Deck and Today's Deck?

Random Deck shuffles fresh every run. Today's Deck uses the same shuffle for every player on a given calendar day, so your result is directly comparable to anyone else who played today.

What happened to Gauntlet Mode?

Gauntlet Mode has been retired. Beat The Deck is now focused entirely on the Classic streak game described above and on the global leaderboard.

Is there a limit on how high I can score?

No hard cap — the theoretical ceiling requires clearing all 52 cards while holding a growing card streak and the 2× global multiplier the whole way, which is vanishingly rare in practice.
